On April 25, at the Titus County Fairgrounds in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, the Northeast Texas Foundation Breeders 8th Annual Production Sale was held. The sale is composed of 4 local ranches that produce top of the line foundation bred Quarter horses able to handle ranch work or the arena.
Seventy horses were offered this year with only 4 being passed out. The highest selling horse was an April 2007 palomino stallion, DH Cline Fuel, a son of PC Cline Frost. This Sun Frost grandson, out of an Oklahoma Fuel/Wilywood bred mare, brought $7,700.
Sixty-six horses were sold, bringing in $135,250. The average sale price was $2,049, with the top 5 sellers averaging $5,940.
On the morning of sale day, the 5th Annual Northeast Texas Foundation Breeders Barrel Futurity was held. Each year they award $6,000+ in total prize money.
