POA 2010 International Sale

The 2010 Pony of the Americas International Sale was held on October 8th & 9th at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa. Held in conjunction with the Pony of the Americas Club’s Futurity Show, some of the finest ponies nationwide were there. One hundred ninety ponies, including some that were showing in the futurity, were offered to the buying public during the 2 days. At the end of Saturday’s session, 146 ponies had been sold.

High selling pony of the sale was Zipped in Gold Satin, a 2002 palomino leopard mare, that brought $7,000. By Gold Viper, a son of Tribute To Prince (sire of international and world champions), and out of the Quarter Horse mare Zippos Diana Bar, she had been shown at state, regional, and classic shows with many class wins and high points. She was the high selling weanling in 2002 and also a Reserve International Champion in Halter as a yearling.

The 146 head that sold grossed $222,425, with an average sale price of $1,523 and a sale percentage of 77%. The Top 5 sellers brought $31,200, for an average of $6,240.
