2010 AQHA World Championship Show Sale

The World Championship Show Sale was held November 18th & 19th at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This year’s sale, held in conjunction with the AQHA World Championship Show, was actually 2-sales-in-1. There was the regular sale and the “World Salebration Sale”, offering the production of Schroeder Ranch, Rodrock Ranches, Masterson Farms, and Sweet Lake Land & Oil Company. Three hundred and ninety-three horses of some of the best bloodlines were offered over the 2 days.

The high selling status was shared by 2 horse, a colt and a filly, who each brought $100,000. Both were owned by the Schroeder Ranch (the colt was owned by Schroeder Ranch, Inc. & Wilhite) and were sired by a father & son.

The colt, a 2009 bay named Born With Luck, was sired by Born To Be Blazing, a son of Blazing Hot. Born To Be Blazing, the 2004 Two-Year-Old Western Pleasure World Champion, has a Superior in Western Pleasure and AQHA, NSBA, and AQHA Incentive Fund earnings of $29,301.10. The colt’s dam, Miss Surely Bars, earned 1 Open Halter point, 134 Open Performance points, 94.5 Amateur Performance points, a Superior in Western Pleasure, and earnings of $30,000. As of 2009 she is the dam of 17 foals, with 10 showing and earning 559 points, 11 ROMs, 5 Superiors, and earning of $126,000.

The filly, a 2009 bay named Hot Lady Born Lopin, was sired by Blazing Hot. A 2010 National Snaffle Bit Association Hall of Fame Inductee, Blazing Hot is the only horse to win an AQHA World Championship in Junior Western Pleasure and Junior Western Riding in the same year (1996). His offspring have earned 23,397 combined points and $2,371,575. The filly’s dam, Born Lopin, is the producer of 4 Superior Western Pleasure Horses and  the 2010 Reichert Celebration $250,000 Challenge 2-Year-Old Western Pleasure Champion, Hot Lopin Machine. Born Lopin is also the dam of Born To Be Blazing, making this filly a full-sister to him.

Three hundred and five horses sold, for a total of $2,050,900. The average sale price was $6,724 and the sale percentage was 78%. The Top  sellers brought $442,000, with an average of $88,400.
