2010 AQHA World Championship Show Sale

The World Championship Show Sale was held November 18th & 19th at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This year’s sale, held in conjunction with the AQHA World Championship Show, was actually 2-sales-in-1. There was the regular sale and the “World Salebration Sale”, offering the production of Schroeder Ranch, Rodrock Ranches, Masterson Farms, and Sweet Lake Land & Oil Company. Three hundred and ninety-three horses of some of the best bloodlines were offered over the 2 days.

The high selling status was shared by 2 horse, a colt and a filly, who each brought $100,000. Both were owned by the Schroeder Ranch (the colt was owned by Schroeder Ranch, Inc. & Wilhite) and were sired by a father & son.

The colt, a 2009 bay named Born With Luck, was sired by Born To Be Blazing, a son of Blazing Hot. Born To Be Blazing, the 2004 Two-Year-Old Western Pleasure World Champion, has a Superior in Western Pleasure and AQHA, NSBA, and AQHA Incentive Fund earnings of $29,301.10. The colt’s dam, Miss Surely Bars, earned 1 Open Halter point, 134 Open Performance points, 94.5 Amateur Performance points, a Superior in Western Pleasure, and earnings of $30,000. As of 2009 she is the dam of 17 foals, with 10 showing and earning 559 points, 11 ROMs, 5 Superiors, and earning of $126,000.

The filly, a 2009 bay named Hot Lady Born Lopin, was sired by Blazing Hot. A 2010 National Snaffle Bit Association Hall of Fame Inductee, Blazing Hot is the only horse to win an AQHA World Championship in Junior Western Pleasure and Junior Western Riding in the same year (1996). His offspring have earned 23,397 combined points and $2,371,575. The filly’s dam, Born Lopin, is the producer of 4 Superior Western Pleasure Horses and  the 2010 Reichert Celebration $250,000 Challenge 2-Year-Old Western Pleasure Champion, Hot Lopin Machine. Born Lopin is also the dam of Born To Be Blazing, making this filly a full-sister to him.

Three hundred and five horses sold, for a total of $2,050,900. The average sale price was $6,724 and the sale percentage was 78%. The Top  sellers brought $442,000, with an average of $88,400.

Tradition 14 Arabian Auction

The Tradition 14 Arabian Auction was held November 13th at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Springfield, Ohio. The sale was divided into 2 sessions: a Preferred Session that was immediately followed by a General Session. Seventy-three horses were sent through the ring, with 55 going to new homes.

The high selling horse was a 2007 bay tobiano Half-Arabian/National Show Horse gelding name Hot In The City, who sold for $20,000. Sired by Monaco and out of Hot Flashez TSA, Hot in the City was named the NSH Finals Reserve Champion English 4 & Under Horse. He is also enrolled in the Breeders Sweepstakes.

The 55 horses that sold grossed $122,800, for an average sale price of $2,233 and a sales percentage of 75%. The Top 6 sellers brought $54,600, with an average of $9,100.

The JB Quarter Horses Creating Legends Sale was held November 13th at the Heart of Texas Complex in Waco, Texas. Seventy-seven barrel horse prospects were sent through the ring, with 60 selling.

High selling horse of the sale was Bo Duke Dash, a 2007 bay gelding, who brought $30,000. His sire is Dash Ta Fame SI-113, a stakes winner of $290,812 and all-time leading sire of barrel horses with 483 get having earnings of $6,176,002. His dam is Midnight Moon JC SI-90, by Floyd De Great, with race earnings of $5,958 and earnings in the arena of $1,024.

The 60 horses sold grossed $270,200, for a sales average of $4,503 and a sales percentage of 78%. The Top 5 sellers brought $59,000, with an average of $11.850.

Hylee Farm’s 3rd Morgan Horse Production & Consignment Sale

The 3rd Hylee Farm Production & Consignment Sale was held on October 30th at the farm in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. Thirty-four Morgan show horses and prospects went through the sale ring, and at the end of the day 30 sold.

The high selling horse was Hylee’s Dannation, a 2003 bay gelding, who brought $91,000. By Liberation First Star out of HVK Vigilgrace, Dannation has won in the Open Park Saddle division and has been ridden by a lady, a junior exhibitor and a walk/trot rider. He has won numerous championships in hand, both as a stallion and as a gelding.

The 30 head grossed $199,500, with a sale average of $6,650 and a sale percentage of 88%. The Top 5 sellers brought $137,000, for an average price of $27,400.

4 Ropin Ranch 5th Annual Team Roping Horse Sale

The 5th Annual 4 Ropin Ranch Inc. Team Roping Horse Sale was held October 28th at the USTRC (United States Team Roping Championships) Cinch National Finals held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The 45 geldings consigned drew a large crowd on the Preview night as they demonstrated their roping skills, and again on the following evening at the sale.

High selling horse was Hollywood Dun Peppy, a 2002 dun gelding, who brought $23,000. He is an own son of NRHA Futurity and Superstakes Champion Dunit Rawhide out of Santos Poco Miss, a granddaughter of Mr. San Peppy. A trained reiner, AQHA point earner, and National Reined Cow Horse Association money earner, he also has an impressive rodeo resume. A seasoned head horse and a solid calf horse, he has been hauled to many major ropings and PRCA rodeos that included some impressive wins.

The 45 geldings grossed $482,850, with an average price of $10,730. The Top 5 brought $89,200 for an average of $17,840.
