The 2011 Diamond-McNabb Ranch Horse Sale was held June 4th in the indoor arena at the Powderhorn Ranch near Douglas, Wyoming. The Diamond-McNabb partnership and their guest consignors offered 87 head of good, athletic ranch-bred horses to the buying public. All were either broke or started and ready to go to new homes.

The high selling horse of the sale was Spinin N Twistin, a 2002 chestnut AQHA gelding, who brought $16,500. Sired by Jacspin, and out of Miss Twistin Nina, “Twister” was an all around ranch horse that anyone, from beginner to experienced rider, could ride. He had been roped off, sorted on, worked cows on and swum on by all ages and experience levels. He had also been to ranch rodeos where he did well.

For the 3rd year, all the horses sold. The 87 brought a total of  $581,500. The average price was $6,684, up from last year’s average of $6,497. The Top 5 sellers brought $70,000, for an average of $14,000.

About 540 people attended, with another 700+ people on the phone or online.  Horses were sold to buyers from 22 different states.
