The Lazy JS Ranch 53rd annual production sale was held August 17, 2012, at the Bowman Auction Market in Bowman, North Dakota. The ranch, and their guest consignors, offered 66 performance-bred horses for sale. The weanlings, along with a few started horses, all found new homes.

The high selling horse was JTs Driftin Guy, a 2009 bay gelding, who sold for $3,000. He was sired by JT Wise Guy, a son of Frenchmans Guy  (Top 10 All-Time Leading Barrel Sire, siring earners of $1,745,458.) His dam, LH Driftin Freckles, is a daughter of Gay Bar Freckles. He had been started and was ready for a job.

The 66 horses netted $38,800, with an average price of $588. The Top 7 sellers (3 horses sold for the same price of $1,300) totaled $11,900, for an average of $1,700.

The ranch was recognized this past year by the AQHA with the Ranching Heritage Breeder designation.
